Ellen Pompeo is ready to hang up her doctor’s coat and stethoscope.
The 52-year-old plays Meredith Gray in long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, now in its 18th season.
In an interview with Initiated, Ellen revealed that she was trying to convince everyone that the series had to end.
“I feel like I’m the super naive who keeps saying, ‘But what will be the story, what story are we going to tell?’ And everyone’s like, “What does it matter, Ellen? It brings in billions of dollars, âshe told the publication.
It is not the first time that the actor speaks about the end of the series. In an interview with Entertainment tonight in September, she said she “has been trying to get away for years”.
“I have strong relationships with the network [ABC], and they were very, very good to me and made me stay, “she added.
It seems that Ellen isn’t the only one thinking about the end of the series. Designer Shonda Rhimes said Variety that she wrote the end of the series “a good eight times”.
“I was like, ‘And this will be the end!’ or, ‘This will be the last thing that has never been said or done!’ And all of these things have happened before. So I’m giving up, you know what I’m talking about? ” she said.
